Static magnetic and electric fields fundamentally affect metabolism

In previous posts, I have mentioned several times that the main cause of the current detrimental state of metabolism in many people are polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs), vegetable oils from seeds. Take a look at these posts and see how they treacherously affect our metabolism, how they prevent to use energy from the saturated fats the body makes to store energy for worse times, how toxic their breakdown products are, how they damage LDL cholesterol and how they destroy our blood vessels, how they cause chronic inflammation by preventing the resolution of common acute inflammations.

But this post will be about something else, although I will still focus on the metabolic syndrome. We will not deal with food, but with electromagnetic fields. It's a pretty hot topic these days, in a world full of GSM networks, WiFi routers, 5G networks, WiGig connections and everything mobile. But I will not discuss that today. I will not examine how much energy does not harm yet and how much already. We will not examine which frequencies are worse than others. No, it will not be necessary, because we will deal with the influence of the static magnetic and electric fields on a living organism.

At first glance, this might seem like a nonsense, right? Does it mean a magnet from a bulletin board or a "fridge gallery" is going to heal me? Really? Do we have any magnets or iron components inside us that are sensitive to permanent magnetic fields? Well, there are a number of studies that claim and prove that we have. Realize that our lives are connected to the Earth, and until recently this environment contained only a stable geomagnetic field and a stable electric field in the Earth's atmosphere. Only lightning was able to create a variable alternating electromagnetic field of many frequencies. Even if we admit that in ancient times there could have been much more lightning than today, it is incomparable with the current state of the environment. A stationary electromagnetic environment may be vital. This can be seen from research that explores the possibilities of distant space travel far from the geomagnetic field. And they find that without this field, problems like reduced metabolism, etc. can occur. It has been found that an environment without a geomagnetic field reduces superoxide production, which is probably due to lower cellular energy production from fats, PUFA oils cause the same problem. Alternating electromagnetic fields, on the other hand, increase the production of superoxide, but there is no increase in energy production, because this requires increased activity of SOD (superoxide dismutase), which converts it to hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and increased activity of glutathione peroxidase, which with glutathione (GSH) converts hydrogen peroxide to water. However, this can only be done by simultaneously acting static magnetic and electric fields.

How big is the natural magnetic and electric field? The intensity of the geomagnetic field is around 40 μT, the electric field of the Earth's atmosphere is about 100 V / m. The earth has a negative potential, the sky has a positive potential. In the natural environment of life, therefore, one stands on a negative earth and envelops entirely by electrons from the earth, because the potential of the earth's atmosphere is positive. You may have heard of the habit of walking barefoot on the grass. Does it still seem like nonsense to you? How healthy is the environment in our modern reinforced concrete buildings, in which there is the same electrical potential everywhere (electrons will definitely not envelop you even when you will ground yourself) and where the ferromagnetic iron skeleton of the building "sucks" the magnetic field and you are left with only the rest of it, that will be probably not enough to wake up your metabolism .

In 2020, an interesting study of the effect of static magnetic and electric fields on the model of diabetic mice with glucose intolerance was published. Studies in these mice have clearly shown that if we apply 100-fold values ​​of the natural electromagnetic conditions present on the Earth, the metabolism of diabetic mice will be corrected in a few days. Without any chemistry and without changing the diet. Insulin resistance improved by about 40%, glucose levels fall and even exposure was only necessary for 7 hours a day, nor does it have to be all day long. Without exposure, however, the situation will return to pre-exposure within seven days. A sufficiently strong static electromagnetic environment has such a capability. Oxidative-reduction conditions are corrected, the cells gain enough energy, the activity of key enzymes is restored, especially in the liver. The authors of the study went even further and tried to find a mechanism by which the remedy occurs. And they found that it was the reaction of the conversion of superoxide to hydrogen peroxide by the enzyme superoxide dismutase SOD, which is affected by a static electromagnetic field. The electric field itself without the magnetic component does not work at all, on the contrary, it worsens the situation. Similarly, the magnetic field alone works only slightly, but at the same time they work incredibly effectively. They found a significant increase in the level of reduced glutathione GSH, and we already know from other studies that this is a way to correct insulin resistance. Reduced glutathione GSH is simply a key cellular antioxidant without which fats cannot be burned.

It is important to realize that disruption of this basic energy regulatory mechanism leads to the cell's transition to glucose or glutamine fermentation without the use of oxygen and the production of lactic acid. This applies to all cells, including cells of the immune system, and is a condition that leads to a number of diseases, such as chronic inflammation and cancer, but also worsens the course of common viruses. It leads to thrombosis, heart attack or stroke in the vascular system. A static electromagnetic field could help reverse this development.

The activity of MnSOD is directly proportional to the intensity of the static electromagnetic field and indirectly proportional to the intensity of the alternating elmag field. O2- production is directly proportional to any stimulation by the elmag field but without a static elmag field it is not converted to H2O2 and the regulation stops working properly.

How recovery of glutathione levels works, which is absolutely crucial and its reduced levels is the basis of metabolic problems. Take a look at this sequence of events:

  1. The production of energy from saturated fats is accompanied with the production of superoxide (O2-).
  2. The enzyme MnSOD converts superoxide (O2-) to hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in a static electromagnetic field. The larger the static field, the more efficient the conversion (higher H2O2 production), the alternating electromagnetic field, on the contrary, cancel out and reduce the efficiency of this conversion (reduce H2O2 production).
  3. The level of H2O2 peroxide must be within certain tolerances, little is bad (glutathione production is not stimulated), too much is also bad (MnSOD activity decreases). The right level ensures the right stimulation of glutathione production and the right MnSOD activity.
  4. Low H2O2 levels mean a gradual decrease in glutathione levels, which results in a reduction of fat burning and also a reduction of MnSOD activity. (and also cause insulin resistance)

The mechanism by which polyunsaturated fats cause problems with fat metabolism:

  1. Polyunsaturated fats are burned first, outperforming other fats in the queue and producing little superoxide (O2-) during combustion.
  2. Low O2- causes low production of hydrogen peroxide H2O2 and does not stimulate the production of glutathione or MnSOD (the mechanism is a bit different, see here).
  3. Low levels of glutathione will significantly reduce the possibility of fat burning.
  4. If there is an excess of saturated fats in the blood, the activity of the desaturase enzyme increases, the saturated fats are partially converted to monounsaturated, which can be burned. However, glutathione levels will not be restored because O2 and H2O2 production are still reduced.

The mechanism by which the alternating electromagnetic field causes problems with fat metabolism:

  1. Alternating elmag field increases superoxide (O2-) production.
  2. The alternating field disrupts the interaction of the enzyme MnSOD with the superoxide, so that only little of it is converted to hydrogen peroxide H2O2.
  3. Low H2O2 production does not stimulate production and therefore reduces glutathione levels.
  4. Low levels of glutathione will significantly reduce the possibility of fat burning.
  5. Elevated O2- levels cause cell damage.
  6. If there is an excess of saturated fats in the blood, the activity of the enzyme desaturase increases, the saturated fats are partially converted to monounsaturated, which can be burned and thus gain energy. However, glutathione levels are not restored because H2O2 production is still reduced.

The mechanism by which a static electromagnetic field helps restore metabolism:

  1. The static field restores the correct interaction between the O2- superoxide and the MnSOD enzyme, lowers the O2- level and increases H2O2 production.
  2. Increased H2O2 production stimulates glutathione production.
  3. Normal glutathione levels restore the possibility of fat burning.

The mechanism by which the replenishment of H2O2 in the blood helps to restore metabolism:

  1. The increase in the level of hydrogen peroxide in the blood is also transmitted to the cells, H2O2 passes through the cell membranes.
  2. This stimulates glutathione production in the cells and restores fat burning.
  3. If the amount of polyunsaturated fats in the blood can be reduced (<2%), superoxide production, MnSOD enzyme activity and H2O2 and glutathione levels are restored even without external H2O2 supplementation.
